Lists of high-RTP games are easy to write and frequently wrong, because the number is a property of the build the operator loaded, not of the title. This article is about how to read the figure where it is authoritative, which takes about fifteen seconds and works for every game.
What the number actually describes
Return to player is a design parameter: the share of total stakes the game is built to return across a very large number of rounds. At 96% RTP the theoretical house margin is 4% of everything staked — not 4% of your deposit, and not a figure that applies to an evening.
The sample size matters more than the percentage. Certification testing runs millions of simulated rounds; a human plays a few thousand. Over a session, variance dominates RTP completely, which is why two players on the same machine can have opposite experiences without anything being unusual.

Why one slot has several RTPs
